Americana Night presented by the Cloverdale Arts Alliance

On Thursday, January 19, the Cloverdale Arts Alliance’s Americana Night will feature West Coast bluegrass greats, The Kathy Kallick Band.

The Kathy Kallick Band is based along the west coast but their powerful mixture of original and classic material, mirroring their distinctive combination of traditional and contemporary sensibilities, has great appeal everywhere.

Kathy Kallick has been leading bands in the Monroe-based tradition of West Coast bluegrass for many years and continues to evolve as one of the genre’s extraordinary composers and vocalists. The band’s material is compelling and varied, the instrumental playing is dazzling and inventive, the vocals luminous and extraordinary.

Kathy Kallick’s exceptional career includes winning a Grammy and two IBMA Awards, receiving a Lifetime Membership from the California Bluegrass Association, co-founding the internationally-acclaimed Good Ol’ Persons, and collaborating with the country’s top acoustic musicians – including her mighty band: Annie Staninec (fiddle), Greg Booth (dobro, banjo), Tom Bekeny (mandolin), and Cary Black (acoustic bass), all of whom are also wonderful singers.

This concert is a chance to experience exceptional acoustically oriented Americana roots music in a warm and intimate environment at the Cloverdale Arts Alliance Gallery. Americana is contemporary music that incorporates elements of various American roots music styles, including country, roots-rock, folk, bluegrass, R&B and blues.

This performance will be at the Cloverdale Arts Alliance Gallery, located at 204 N. Cloverdale Blvd. Tickets are $20 for Cloverdale Arts Alliance members and $25 for non-members. Doors open at 7:00 pm; music begins at 7:30 pm. Americana Night takes place the third Thursday of each month from October through May.
